Week 19.9 / 23.9 in Lions

Week 19.9 – 23.9 in Lions!

Blue and Purple crayons visited us!

This week has been great! In the Lions class we enjoyed a lot of outdoor learning.

On Monday we enjoyed a theatrical presentation of The Princess and the Pea. The children loved it as they were able to join in and participate. We also used pre math and made sets of numbers between 0-6, and also learned how to use the words All/None and the difference between the two.

Tuesday, we learned about the characteristics of the autumn season and how we should dress. We also talked about how to take care of our bodies during the cold seasons by using exercise. That is why we headed to the Villa Luna gym and had fun running and playing games involving listening to verbal instructions.

On Wednesday we went to the big playground in the morning and in the afternoon we went to the forest for a nice nature walk. We had fun collecting different materials from the forest that we will use for crafting very soon!

Thursday the Blue and Purple crayon came to visit us. During morning circle we continued our story about the crayons and the children found pictograms inside the book with clues about where our friends may be! Hint by hint our Lions found what each pictogram meant and lead them! Then once we found our way to the gym, where the last hint led us, we found our friend Purple crayon next to the water container. After being asked by Purple crayon what other things may be the same color in our school as the blue water, our Lions led us to the Cubs classroom with their big blue door. There we found Blue crayon!!! Our crayon box is ALMOST complete!

On Friday we went for a walk to the forest. It was a beautiful sunny day. The children collected different types of seeds (pinecones, chestnuts, and acorns). We saw all the different sizes and shapes of each different seed. They had fun running through the forest and discovering new things with their Fox friends. We enjoy developing cooperation and friendships with our fellow Villa Luna classes through this wonderful topic we are exploring together.

Looking forward to new adventures as we near the end of our first project of this school year.

Best Regards,

Your Lions Teachers.
