The Ballet Club

News from our small ballerinas

It has been almost half a year since the beginning of the school year, which is why we, the small ballerinas, would like to boast a little bit about what we are practicing with Eliška and what we have already learned. First of all, we learned how a proper ballet dancer should stand, that she shouldn’t slouch or poke her tummy out, and that she should stand up straight. Then we practiced walking on our tip toes, various kinds of jumps and graceful running. Now we already know the first ballet position, we know how important fluent movements are, and we are able to balance on one leg while doing arabesques. We are learning correct ballet terms, such as „plié“, which is bending the knees, and „relevé“, which means standing on tip toes. We don’t forget about muscle stretches, so we will be able to learn the splits and lifting our leg as high as Eliška. We learned a number of fun dances and we always beg for them, because we love being a bit silly and having fun after diligent practising. Put simply, ballet is fantastic and we look forward to showing off all we have learned to our parents at the summer festival.

So, you have something to look forward to!!
